ion of Sinaitic Monuments in Greece and Cyprus (Projection of Sinaitic Monuments in Greece and Cyprus)

The projection of Sinaitic Monuments in Greece and Cyprus will be supported through the study, digital recording, multi media production, publication of a catalogue and exhibitions of shared architectural and historical heritage at the Sinaitic Dependency of St. Mathews in Ira. Expected Results: The project involves layout work and equipment for the exhibition area in the restored building of the St. Matthews Monastery in Iraklio, Crete. Exhibits will belong to the monastic tradition of the Sinaitic Dependencies of Crete and Cyprus and be replaced from time to time to provide a dynamic list of themes projecting the multi-faceted perspective of this tradition in Crete and Cyprus from the Venetian times to this date. At the same time, the existing functioning Hospice of St. Matthews Dependency will support the stay of researchers and students from Cyprus during their work on topics relating to the study of the Sinaitic presence in the wider area of Crete and Cyprus. The recording, digitisation and publication of the monuments and traditions of the Sinaitic Dependency of St. Matthews in Iraklio will contribute to their cultural promotion.
