Inwestuj w siebie - rozwijaj swoje talenty
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Zespol Szkol Zawodowych (Vocational Schools) in Wolsztyn is one of the largest vocational schools in the Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) province. For many years we successfully educated young people in many handcraft professions to meet the demand of the job market in the region. The number of students has remained at the level of 1,500 people. This success is influenced by various factors like following job market demands for interesting fields of study, high levels in educating practises and knowledge and experience gained in recent years during international internship programs Leonardo da Vinci (LdV) and POWER.The project is designed as a 2-weeks internship for two groups, each of 16 people with two supervisors. The goal is to gain experience in following areas: first group of chefs and food technologists, second group of car mechanics and mechatronics. The project is run by Zaklad Promowania Zawodowego Zwiazku Przemyslowego Berlina i Brandenburgii (The Department of Vocational Promotion by Industry Union of Berlin and Brandenburg) in training centers in Frankfurt an der Order (from 09-Oct-2016 till 22-Oct-2016 first group) and in Brandenburg (from 22-May-2017 till 03-Jun-2017 second group). The main objective of proposed project is: students to acquire new skills and experience in professions they learn. Equally important will be their personal development, team work, language improvements, learning the work culture in Germany, which should increase their flexibility both at national and European job market. Chefs and food technologists will learn how to prepare breakfasts, including baking bread, rolls, yeast cakes, lunches - soups with unusual recipe and preparation method. They will also prepare main dishes based on game, fish, beef, seafood cooked in convention and thermal ovens. Car mechanics and mechatronics will have the opportunity to work on different types of engines, how to diagnose them, repair and check the pneumatic systems. As a result of visiting German diagnostic station and DEKRA company they will learn the principles of vehicle diagnostic tests and rules of professional expertise. Besides, they will get to know about what are the vehicles tests and audits.German partner with modern technical facilities will guarantee the quality of internship training acquired in each of the occupations. The verification of internship project will be carried out based on the relevant survey, interviews and audits. The project aims to raise an interest in young people to learn about real jobs and perhaps discover their life profession. By performing real tasks, apprentices will learn how to make decisions regarding usage of optimal work techniques; acquire vocational skills that complement learning content curriculum in our school. Our school students come mostly from villages and rural areas. The internship in another country may attract them to find a place in professional life outside of the local community. This will also allow them to check their skills in other cultures and communities, develop a sense of European identity and increase employment opportunities after graduating the school. Apprentices will be motivated to learn foreign languages, which gives possibilities of finding a job abroad or better work locally. They will also learn German culture and attractions of Brandenburg. The local press is interested in new initiatives taken by our school which we hope will improve the quality of vocational courses. Additional benefits of this project will be seen as promotion of the school, our town on the county and region level. The project’s results will give innovation in the content and teaching methods of vocational education, thus make the handcraft courses more attractive. We believe this initiative will positively impact on future employees or other students in the class.Successful completion of LdV program three years ago and recently POWER program contributed to the growth of interest in our school by third class pupils from secondary school. That resulted in creation of additional class in 2015/2016 school year (construction technician, group of food technologists). We hope that the Erasmus+ program will bring similar positive impact.Participation in the Erasmus+ contributes to the growth of professional qualifications of students graduating our school, who become more attractive in the local market. Employers are looking for young, energetic and ambitious workers ready for new challenges and with international experience. Project participants who will want to register their own business in the future will create new jobs helping to reduce unemployment in the region.
