The project POST-PRESTIGE is presented as a reply of transnational cooperation, between the regions of Cantabria and Aquitaine, to fight against the effects of the shipwreck of Prestige, on November 2002. The project has three main objectives: to intervene, in the sequence of the catastrophe of Prestige, to fight against the contamination in the sea and in the coast; to favor a common reflection about the measures to adopt to the protection of the common patrimony (sea and coast) affected by the catastrophe of Prestige, in particular in what concerns to vigilance and prevention and the recuperation of the environment and to facilitate the interchange of experiences about the techniques of prevention, collect, cleanness and residues eliminations. The two involved regions in the project developed innovated actions to try to fight against contamination. The cooperation established between the two regions aims at the interchange between the two countries about the good practical used in the treatment of the maritime contamination and to try new techniques to recuperate residuals of hydro-carbon.
