İNTERNET SOKAKTAN FARKSIZ (iNTERNET İS NOT DİFFERENT FROM THE STREET)
Start date: Feb 1, 2011,

The internet can be shortly described as the computers’ net in the world. In today’s world, nearly two billion people use the internet in order to inform other people, run operations, communicate, also for education, and entertainment. So, it has become an indispensible part of all people’s lives. Today, many parents get computer and internet connection in their houses to provide their kids a good opportunity of education, and to prepare them for the post-modern society. As the internet usage becomes prevalent, it bears lots of positive outcomes as well as some undesired results such as the easiness to reach any kind of information or people without any limits or control. Computer games and surfing on the internet restrict kids’ and youngsters’ social life. The aim of our project is to get students in our city the insight about the safe usage of computer technology and the internet for beneficial purposes. The target group of our project, which will last nearly 5 months, is all the students in primary schools in Isparta city centre. With common facilities, youngsters will come together for such a purpose, and will be conscious about how to use computers and the internet safely. In three schools chosen as the pilot groups, 120 students will be educated by experts about “Safe Internet Usage”; then, those students will be asked to inform their classmates and families. Besides, with some sportive and social activities among youngsters, the social harmony of European Union is aimed to be reinforced. Such ties as respect, love, honesty, hospitality among youngsters will also be promoted. Therefore, our project will have a locally strong impact.
