Internationalisierung für Young Europeans need Skills!
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The vocational school Lorenz-Kaim located in the heart of Germany has 75 teachers and approx. 1.400 students, who are specializing in the sectors metal technology, nutrition, tourist industry, economy and administration, caring profession and housekeeping. There are close contacts with companies, hotels, Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Chamber of Crafts, adult education center, District Office and universities. Our goal is to make the region Upper Franconia more and more attractive for young people, because our region fights against a dramatic demographic decline. There are a lot of companies, which cannot find young trainees for their apprenticeships. With our internationalization strategy students and teachers should get the opportunity for a national and international exchange in the longer term. That is why our primary objective is to provide offers, in the context of the dual vocational training system, which convey international vocational competences. Our dual system could constitute a key instrument for economic access to new industries. The vocational school in Kronach has been QmbS-School since 2010. We keep close contact with the government of Upper Franconia, the District Office and the adult education center. Together we have already participated in different European programs. 2009 Leonardo Da Vinci Mobility - Technical School -of Limassol- Cypern - Learning by using new electronic teaching media. 2011 Comenius "Austausch von Lehrern" Regierung von Oberfranken, Mittelschule Redwitz, Episkopi school Board Cyprus, Gymnasio Episkopis Cyprus. 2013/14 Leornardo da Vinci VetPro mobility - Use IT. 2013/14 Leonardo da Vinci VetPro mobility - Media, curriculum and didactic strategies in vocational training. Since 2013 we have been performing special projects together with regional companies like the Bertelsmann-Stiftung and the Bavarian-Indian Center BayIND , which aim at the goal to establish the dual vocational training system abroad. We have a long-standing partnership with vocational schools in Hungary with reciprocal visits and student exchanges in the gastronomic and touristic sector. We use the initiated connections for our actual project Erasmus+ 20014/16 - Kronach 2020 - from regional to international networking. We were able to expand our partnership with the A ´Technial School of Limassol which is not the only institute we have a partnership agreement with, but we have also an agreement with the C`Technical School. Those two schools are the largest of their kind in Cyprus and have a strong interest in the German standard of education. The A´Technical School Limassol and the C`Technical School are the received partners in this mobility in Cyprus, they provide all the required contacts on-site. The partner institute in Hungary will support our mobility in proven ways. This includes not only the tasks, but also the implementation of all planned activities (see ECVET - partnership agreement).Goals and ActivitiesWith the new project we want to continue our internationalizing strategy and gain new insights and further information within the national comparison of the educational systems. Our aim is to introduce educational development in methodical and didactic fields.Because our projects have sustainable effects we want to network with our partners in Cyprus and Hungary. Exchange of experience should operate bilateral as well as multilateral. Last but not least we strive for an inter cultural exchange to develop a European public spirit. Activities are to develop teaching concepts. Furthermore we want to establish a networking system for vocational education and continuing education together with the government and institutions for further education. Make post-compulsory training courses comparable and recognition of learning content through regional companies. Results should be published via our school homepage. Further possibilities are local press and further reaching media. We use a partnership agreement and a learning agreement according to ECVET as project basis. All participants fill in a Europass-CV and get a Europass mobility certificate.
