Internationaler Kaufmann - Neue Wege in der Berufsausbildung für Industriekaufleute
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

We see our newly prepared course ?Internationaler Kaufmann ? Neue Wege in der Berufsbildung für Industriekaufleute? as integrated foreign-language training. In advance the students are trained in a plus-programme at our vocational school in terms of data processing, foreign language, sociopolitical topics and giving presentations. In a three-week course at the European College of Business and Management in London, with 26 teaching units a week, the pupils apply their knowledge by giving short talks, preparing power point presentations and writing compositions about economic and politico-economic tasks in English. In addition they have typical Business English units such as correspondence, telephoning and cultural differences. The cross-cultural competence will be improved by several excursions. The written project report (approximately 1500 words) will be completed and edited (text processing, image editing, graphics) after the stay at home. These reports will be passed on to the European College to be assessed. The students can acquire three certificates: German-British Chamber Certificate, European College of Business and Management Attendance Certificate and the Europass. To acquire these certificates the students need to perform the following efforts: Written project report (approximately 1500 words) after the end of the course at home, a power point presentation about an economic topic, a three hour written test. We are planning to integrate the results of the mobility in the report marks and the comment of the school certificate of 11th grade. In this connection we want to check to which extent the separate achievements of the mobility can be transferred into report marks. This is what we want to develop in close cooperation with our school management, the Government of Swabia and the Ministry of Education. Absolutely essential for us is the improvement of the monitoring. We are planning: - All steps of preparation being evaluated by the students - Students take notes of their progress in a project diary - The host families being evaluated by the students - The content of the courses and the teachers of the ECBM being assessed - The professionalism of the project management of the teachers of our school being validated. In addition we want the whole project to be evaluated by the trainers of the participating KMUs. As result of the consistent further development of our project series the pupils receive the certification ?Internationaler Kaufmann? in cooperation with the DIHK Berlin. The requirements for this certificate, which was developed by the AHK in London, are: 1. Successful conclusion of the apprenticeship to become an industrial clerk 2. Successful completion of the three week mobility in London (PDP-Programme at the ECBM in London (written and oral exam plus essay)) Additionally we demand at least good results in the KMK-Certificate in Business English level 2. If all qualifications are fulfilled the certification ?Internationaler Kaufmann? will be carried out by the ECBM in London.
