The participants will be second- and third-year apprentices , so they’ve already got the fundamental knowledge in processing of granite, limestone and sandstone. 12 apprentices will be involved. The Mobility will take place from September till December 2015 in Italy, in Carrara, the capital of the “white gold” marble trade. Our intermediary partners are the Steinmetzzentrum Königslutter (our project partner in Germany) and the sculptor Ulrich Müller in Carrara. The main aims of our project are to promote international competence of young apprentices, to improve the professional skills, to stimulate a human growth and to increase the acceptance of stay abroad of apprentices. A very important goal is the learning of Italian language. We expect that this experience will cause a great improvement in our apprentices´ attitude, the professional and communicative skills. The professional teaching contents are: free drawing, design forms, using technical documentation, making structural components from natural stone, embossing the stone, producing letters and symbols, making profiles , working with the pointing machine, group project work. Die mobility advisor of the Chamber is responsible for the implementation of the project. The processes of the preparation, realization and following up are in the same hands. The project layout is as follows: - Cultural and linguistic preparation in Germany - Two-week sculpture course - Eight-week internship in local companies - Excursions (quarries, typical monuments), cultural program - Europass Mobility - Final meeting with evaluation.
