International Vocational Education Skills Transfer
Start date: Nov 3, 2014, End date: Nov 2, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project involves students of the second, third and fourth year of various programs in School Center Ptuj (SC). It includes the students of the agricultural and horticultural technician, environmentalist, various programs of mechanical engineering, car mechatronic or computing technician, technician in economics or visual marketing for three-week-long mobilities. In recent years SC offered to the students mobility projects in international environment which they would otherwise often be deprived of because of poor economic and social situation. For the School Center the project is important because of several aspects, which are consistent with the strategic plan of the SC management regarding international mobility. Main aspects are: to improve the level of key skills and competences, transparent recognition of gained knowledge in national and international documents such as Europass Mobility and ECVET and deepening cooperation with our partner organizations considering comparison and upgrade of basic skills and later also integrating these skills into school curricula. Therefore, the mobility will also include at least 12 accompanying persons who will, in collaboration with partner schools, compare fundamental knowledge and skills in the programs of both partner schools. Most of the students who will be involved in the project will be working in foreign companies performing practical work. This way participants do not only learn but also experience, which is a great way to improve the level of key skills and competences. Based on the experience from previous mobilities, we know that working in real foreign environment forces students to use foreign language which is the best way to practice communication and learn a foreign language, particularly in terms of technical terminology. In addition, in the afternoons and weekends students will be involved in cultural, sports and social activities, so that international mobility will strengthen key competences not partially but as whole. The project will be implemented in collaboration with partner organizations. Preliminary stage will be based on the analysis of past projects, preparation of draft programs of future mobilities, and promotion of the Erasmus+ campaign. Careful selection of participants will be followed by their preparation for mobility. Document preparation and implementation of the mobilities will be organized by the coordinator and a group of experts in each school at SC. Mobility will conclude with the presentations of the students and accompanying persons, analysis of the project, preparing the final report and the dissemination of results. We expect that participants will gain self-confidence, key skills and competences and real life experience. As an institution SC will improve the quality of teaching and assessment by incorporating new basic skills and knowledge in the curricula. As the project will also include representatives of local companies as accompanying persons, SC will strengthen the quality of cooperation at local level. In an international context the partner institutions will deepen cooperation and start to plan the integration of new projects and partnerships.
