International Mobility with European Spirit
Start date: Dec 1, 2011,

The project “International Mobility with European Spirit” gives 30 young people (28 with fewer opportunities) both as well girls and boys on an equal level aged from 18 to 30 the opportunity to go abroad as a group or individual person for a period of 1, 2 or 6 months to another country. Europejskie Forum Młodzieży (EFM) is going to send and also host volunteers to the partner countries (Germany, Lithuania, Romania, Italy, Poland, Greece) and the neighbouring partner countries (Serbia, Azerbaijan, Israel, Ukraine, Georgia). Against social exclusion especially youngsters with fewer opportunities, with a difficult social background for example, will have the possibility to get in contact with a new culture and discover nationalities beyond and inside Europe. Youngsters with mental- or physical disabilities will work with a special support on special activities that they can manage without feeling excluded. In general the project aims on the inclusion and integration of people to the community. The work in inter-cultural groups in a non-formal way will reduce prejudices and raise the awareness and sensitivity for different cultures, nationalities, religions and orientations in general. The volunteers will work together with youngsters in different institutions like youth & social help centers, schools, kindergartens or orphanages. The project will mainly take part in less developed regions and where the people have to face several problems like very high unemployment and the consequences of poverty like crime or drug- and alcohol abuse. In these regions the life is especially problematic for young people because the desperation makes them frustrated, unmotivated and excluded from the local community. The work with the volunteers will increase the development and give the youngsters new motivation to find a work, to realize own ideas and visions and to integrate into the local community in these regions.
