INTERNATIONAL DIMENSION OF TEACHING AND LEARNING: FROM CLIL TO BILINGUAL CURRICULUM Istituto Magnaghi, a secondary school in the field of Gastronomy and Tourism, providing full time vocational and technical education, has designed a European Development plan focussed on teacher training, mobility and enhancement of school quality standards at an international dimension based on identified needs for improvement with reference to: - creation of a team of teachers with a European outlook;- support for the development of an ICT-based approach to learning; - increase partnerships between European schools;- promotion of the CLIL approach to teaching subjects;- building international partnership between schools.- school development and quality evaluation and enhancement.The main objectives range from staff motivation to staff improvement in the field of CLIL teaching and digital competences. from promotion of awareness of cultural and linguistic diversity within Europe to the fighting prejudice and discrimination.Number of participants: 20Participants profile : Subject teachers of Cooking, Hospitality and Restaurant, Economy, Tourism, Humanities, Maths and ITC teachers, English teachers and school management staff.The criteria for teacher selection will include in-service position, knowledge of English, motivation and willingness to work in future European projects.Activities for participants before, during and after mobility will range from preararing teaching materials, attending general English courses CLIL methodology, ITC-based corses to planning school strategies concerning school improvement and quality standards.Methodologies are seminars, discussions, lectures, attending conferences, workshops and meetings with partners, headteachers and school staff and governors. All stages of project will be monitored by well-organised assessment and evaluation procedures.Expected impact and results :- the sharing of professional competences in teacher training - overall improvement in the quality of education, through teacher training and the exchange of good practices. - teachers involved in mobilty will gain professional knowledge and language skills.- they will be engaged in devising a bilingual teaching plan . Long term benefits will result in improving empowerment processes at staff level, school quality in collegiality and student performances through the implementation of a Bilingual Curriculum.Our stakeholders will be active partners in short and long term quality development procedures.
