International Countryside

International countryside project will focus on "spreading the awareness of different cultures and promotes tolerance among youngster and local community " in a small rural town called Haapavesi. The project fights against racism and discrimination. The leading idea is to bring world closer to young and raise their EU awareness and also inspire them to see the possibilities of internationalization.One EVS volunteer will work in Haapavesi Folk High School as a dormitory supervisor and freetime activor. He also assists in lessons and different kinds of projects. In his daily work he will be in close contact with students and other local young. Being present in these youngster everyday life, he can promote the positive image of different cultures and cut down prejudices. He also learn himself different skills related to working with young and people from different backgrounds. EVS in a small rural town offers local people a chance to familiarize themselves with other cultures and practise their language. In a small community it is also easy for EVS to get to know different people. The project is linked closely the closely the following themes of Erasmus+ program - Rural developing- Youth active participation- EU Citizenship, EU awareness and DemocracyIt also follows the principles of EVS program and offer volunteer a chance to get to know other cultures in EU and learn new skills. Also young will learn how to be intependent.
