The project is based on the mobility of tourism and catering students completing a part of their mandatory practical vocational training in a new environment, getting to know the work organization, legal regulations and cultural characteristics of the neighbouring country. The project objectives are designed so as to suit the needs of the participants, students of Srednja šola za gostinstvo in turizem Celje (Slovenia) and Škola za turizam, ugostiteljstvo i trgovinu Pula (Croatia), enabling them to broaden their knowledge and experience in the tourism and catering area during their 21-day stay in the neighbouring country. A total of 4 students from Croatia will be involved in the project, completing their practical vocational training in appropriate tourism and catering establishments under continuous expert supervision of vocational teachers and employers of the receiving school. The students will be appointed to a hotel / catering establishment in which the students of the receiving school complete their vocational training. Their activities in hotels will include: - Work in the reception area - Work in the housekeeping department Their activities in catering establishments will include: - Preparations of ingredients - Preparation of meals - Laying the tables and decorating the restaurant - Service in restaurants. Long term benefits will certainly include an improvement of international cooperation and understanding of cultural diversity. It will add extra value to the school in view of future enrolments. This kind of project should help the cross-border recognition of attained qualifications, support the mobility in the international labour market and raise the students' overall personal and professional skills and competences.
