Interkulturelle Kompetenzen und Projekte zur europäischen Entwicklung der Schule
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our secondary school would like to participate in this European training program in order to optimize the already existing projects at our school such as the student exchange programs. We want to find new possibilities to set up European partnerships and to finance these. We also want to enable those students who don't come from a wealthy background to take part in European projects and to have access to European partnerships. We have several projects seeking to reduce racism and promote tolerance, however, one only feels tolerance when exposed to difference, to different customs, traditions, religion and languages. This is why exchange programs with foreign countries is so important. Three colleagues should participate in the Erasmus+ training program in order to make our school a European partner school. They will then function as promoters at our school to show colleagues, the student body and the parents the possibilities how to participate in European projects. After participating in a first teachers' training we plan to implement an Erasmus team to inform parents how their children can learn languages in Europe thus providing them with better job qualifications in the future. If students feel that Europe is more than just a theoretic word and that learning a language makes sense, then they are likely to become more tolerant.
