Interkulturelle Erziehung und Bildung - Bremer Erzieherinnen im Ausland
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Who: Monique Ullrich and Annika Olschewski, students of The Further Education College for Health and Social Science in Bremen-Blumenthal, would like to do their last practical year of education in a pre-school in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. Involved in this project are The Vocational School for Social Pedagogy with two teachers, the above listed students with a councelor each, and the German Pre-school in Las Palmas. What: There is a variety of educational facilities in Europe. Monique Ullrich and Annika Olschewski would like to know about education concepts for early childhood in foreign countries. They intent to compare and evaluate their different curricula, at the same time they can apply their trained pedagogical acquirements and skills. Moreover, they would like to reflect their theoretical knowledge in practice and gain a higher professional qualification. Their aim is to enable children to become open-minded and empathetic by approaching them with appreciation, sincerity and tolerance. The transnational mobility of pre-school teachers can be regarded as a role model in a pedagogical way. Why: Monique Ullrich and Annika Olschewski already have experience in bilingual work due to a practical training in a pre-school. In future, they would like to continue working in intercultural facilities. It is important fort hem to create an intercultural exchange and a mindset open to inclusion and integration. Having finished their internship, they will function as multipliers informing other students about the experience they gained. Thus, further pre-school teachers could be motivated to apply for the opportunities, which are given to them in other countries.
