Using complementary cross-border expertise, the project aims to develop an integrated system of marine management for the evaluation of living resources, important species and habitats in the Dover Strait and adjacent waters. The system will consist of two components: (i) a digital atlas of marine habitats, important species and living resources, to include tools for the assessment of impacts under different management scenarios; (ii) an evaluation of the policy and legal frameworks for the assessment and monitoring of the marine ecosystem of the eligible area. By developing a marine atlas, the project also aims to promote greater awareness of the marine environment amongst the wider public in the INTERREG eligible area.
