Interdisziplinäres Lernen, Freiarbeit und Stärkung der Sozialkompetenz
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our school aims to support the students entrusted to us according to their individual talents. As a catholic private school, we focus on social interaction and provide feedback to our students in all domains. In the 2014/15 academic year we started a school development process in order to enhance the quality of our teaching, our students' individual responsibility and their Self Managed Learning (SML) skills. This requires the training of teaching staff as well as an innovative and flexible organisation of the school as a whole. A special emphasis is put on the continuous improvement of our school's learning culture and the students' ability of "learning to learn". In addition, the creation of a learning and living environment without stress is of utmost importance. The visits of carefully selected schools of national and international reputation in these domains will inspire new ideas and give impetus to their implementation. Those school will be visited by at least two members of the teaching staff in order to secure an immediate internal exchange. Seventeen mobilities are planned. Precise topics and questions will be elaborated and approbated by the school management so as to assure the efficiency of the visits. Teachers will be required to report to the staff and develop a concept of execution to secure sustainable implementation. In addition, teachers will pass on their European experiences to colleagues as well as incorporate them into their teaching. The contacts established with European schools will be maintained and extended, e.g. through eTwinning projects in various fields. The long term benefit will be the augmentation of the quality of teaching. This will be achieved through a school+ where students are able to learn individually and independently;+ whose students are able to present themselves in a confident and competent way;+ where learning and teaching are stress-free;+ which allows the intellecutally gifted to develop their skills in the best possible way;+ which, at the same time, provides more support to the averagely gifted students than other schools do;+ whose students obtain good results at the national school leaving certificate ("Matura");+ where there are no students dropping out or refusing to go to school and where there is no bullying;+ where Christian and social principles can be lived;+ whose implementation is financially feasible.
