The KHG´s motto is "living together and learning from each other." The KHG is a meeting place for students and young academics. Nations and cultures from all over the world meet here. Students from different disciplines, students of the first year as well as students who are writing their thesis come together here. A diverse program is organized on a voluntary basis by students (www.khg-erlangen.de). An emphasis is placed on international or intercultural events. “Living together and learning from eachother” first take place during the weekly meeting on Tuesday evening. It offers the opportunity to get to know each other. The Pacelli House, the KHG´s residence, provides housing for students from different nationalities who live together for several semester or years. The volunteer has a room in the Pacelli House and thus lives together with the other students. In addition, he/she primarily works in the intercultural field, that means during the weekly meetings on Tuesday evening, in the organization of country-specific evenings and intercultural festivals, intercultural and interreligious seminars and workshops and recreational activities in sporting, artistic, musical or other areas, depending on the volunteer´s interest and talent.
