Interculturalitate si competitivitate in fomarea viitorilor educatori
Start date: Aug 25, 2014, End date: Aug 24, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Through the “Interculturality and competition in forming future teachers” project we will have the possibility to make the Romanian system of education compatible with the European one by implementing the experience gathered by the participants and the examples of good practices observed in the initial training of future primary school teachers. Placing Romanian students from the vocational pedagogic profile to train in schools from the Spanish and Portuguese system of education will respond to an objective from the Institution Development Project, that of adapting the educational and training act of the future graduates to the requirements of a modern, European education, in which education is based on practical principles that transmit minimum information but emphasize on developing skills. Project objectives: 1. Diversifying and enhancing the specialized training of the future primary school teachers with new information and skills in a system with a strong entrepreneurial quality; 2. The necessity of the Romanian system of education to adapt quickly to the European examples of good practice; 3. Having partnerships with European institutions and implementing common structures to ensure quality; 4. Acquiring information on the Spanish culture and civilization and improving language skills in Spanish and English; The participants at the mobility are 24 students from the 11th and 12th grade vocational profile. At graduation, they receive the Bacalaureat diploma but also a certificate of professional skills after studying the theoretical, specialty subjects, undergoing the specialized pedagogical training and passing a specialty exam. This grants them the qualification of a primary school teacher and allows them to work in primary schools or kindergarten, or they can go on for the higher education. Thus, these students are the human resource of the Romanian educational system, which wants to be modern and linked to the standards of the European Union. Due to this project, the students will be placed for 3 weeks in public and private kindergartens from Spain and Portugal. This will facilitate training for 90 classes of the 196 classes required by the differential curriculum for the pedagogical profile of vocational highschools, 12th grade, approved by OMECI no. 3608/2009 about the specialty subjects in the differential curriculum for the 9-12 grade, “Specialty training” (4 classes/week) of which 40% are meant for activities in kindergarten. In the mobility, the students will: 1. get familiar with the main activities done in a kindergarten: final results, the social and cultural environment, structure, the organization of the kindergarten, the relationship with other institutions, the study of legislation and documents used in the kindergarten, the study of the documents designed by the teacher (planning, psycho-pedagogical forms, lesson plans); 2. Get familiar with the specific way of planning and doing the activities in a kindergarten; identify the resources used in a group; make observations in the notebooks; observe the lessons in the kindergarten; 3. Plan, teach and evaluate the activities of the students (active training); 4. Other types of curricular and extracurricular activities: welcoming the children in the kindergarten, decorating the classrooms, parent-teacher meeting, parents seminar, attending the teachers’ meeting, the teacher on duty, pageants, etc. The training period will become part of the specialty training and will be acknowledged and validated by implementing the ECEVT system for the organization of transnational mobilities. Expected results: 1. Short term -improved skills in the practical training of the primary school teachers -25 students that will act as models for their colleagues in school and the South-East region -getting to know the Spanish system of education and the European cultural background -developing adjusting skills and team work 2. Long term -making the Romanian system of education compatible with the European one by transferring experiences -good practice model that can be disseminated in the region
