Intercultural Youthwork
Start date: Jul 4, 2009,

As a local authority it is our duty to contribute to a social and tolerant Europe. We try to have an open mind towards foreign youngsters and to give them a chance to enlarge their world. The social support service is by its young and dynamic character an ideal place for a volunteer to get to know the Belgian youth culture in an active way. For the local authority, for our employees, for the local youngsters, but also for the volunteer herself this experience will be an enrichment. It teaches us to enlarge our horizon, have an open mind, to get to know and understand a different culture and to create a mentality change. Within the social support service we work round youth, elderly, Europe, prevention, integration, educational support, development co-operation, etc… which means a lot of diversity for a volunteer. Our main objective is to give Sara the chance to broaden her horizon, learn something about youth work in Belgium and Heusden-Zolder and give her a lifetime experience.
