Intercultural work in Mecklenburg

Five volunteers (three from Hungary, one from France , one from Poland) work in three hosting projects (10 months and 12 months) in the city Rostock and in the village Cammin .
Project 1 - " Institut für neue Medien": The project is located in the area of youth work and aims at promoting media education and media culture in the region. In courses and study groups young people receive instruction in the production and design their own audio-visual and digital media. Further the project organizes local, regional and international media contests and film festivals. Main tasks of the Finnish and Hungarian volunteers involvement and participation in educational events, create your own media , preparation and organization of intercultural exchange projects and event management in an intercultural Film Festival ( Film Festival FISH) . Other responsibilities include public relations , program planning and evaluation of projects .
Project 2 - "Radio LOHRO / Kulturnetzwerk e.V.": The hosting project is a non-commercial free radio, in which engage young people. At Radio LOHRO the volunteers can learn journalistic and communicative forms of representation and the use of media technology to make radio.The French and the Hungarian volunteers learn the basics of making radio and engage in a radio editorial staff of their choice (day editorial staff, music editorial staff, policy editorial staff, environment editorial staff , campus editorial staff , intercultural editorial staff ). They gain journalistic and communication skills and be able to create your own posts .
Project 3 - " Förderverein Storchenschule Cammin " : The volunteer from Poland will be active for a period of 10 months in a primary school in the countryside. The comprehensive promotion of children is the main goal of the activity. The volunteer supports directed at Europe educational work of the school through their own ideas and their own engagement. The volunteer will be involved in the project series " Adventure Europe ", which promotes the establishment of a European consciousness among children.
The Volunteers will collect a variety of experiences in the new culture, and particularly in the work area. They will to gain social and cultural competence and mint new skills. Volunteers will also enrich the hosting organizations with their cultural experiences and support the development of organizations.
