Intercultural learning and mobility for young VIplus
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The 6 volunteers coming from Russia, Morocco, France, Spain and Hungary will be hosted in the local area of Padua and Abano Terme in the associations Xena, Mimosa and Khorakhanè from 6 to 12months. During their stay in Italy they will support the host organizations with activities in the youth, social and cultural field, in contrast with social exclusion and marginalization. Their participation will be very helpful because of the added value they will bring to the organizations’ activities, with the new ideas and new projects they will be able to develop, and with the intercultural dialogue opportunities that will occur in the associations, both with the operators as well as with other volunteers and users. This will be a good opportunity to live an intercultural life experience in another country, and also as a personal growth and learning experience for what regards new competences that will be useful in the professional field too, allowing them to have more opportunities in the job search. The volunteers have different profiles for what regards their aims and background. Two of them (Olga and Zulfiia) come from Russia and are motivated to test themselves in an international experience in order to complate their training in the social and intercultural field. Mohammed comes from Morocco and is a young person with fewer opportunities, both because of the social and financial condition of Morocco, as well as because of his personal condition related to his financial and educational background, thus an extra-mentoring fee will be requested. The project takes into account that this will be his first learning experience abroad thus the implementation of small personal projects will be included, with the aid of his mentor.Jairo, Karoly and Marine are Europeans instead (Spain, Hungary and France) and during their project they will have the opportunity to integrate aspects related to their interests and education with the practical experience. For all the volunteers this opportunity will be important for what regards their training, gaining new competences and more experience for their vocational understanding of what to do in the future. All the volunteers will be actively involved in each project and will be responsible of personal activities and projects. They will be icluded in the work team and will implement activities in the non-formal education field.Olga and Mohammed will support Xena in the local activities and in welcoming people from other countries as well as in the dissemination of the Erasmus+ program and the EVS. Jairo and Zulfiia will support Mimosa in activities with italian and foreign unaccompanied minors, recovering decayed areas of the city, and in gereal activities in order to raise awareness for all the activities of Mimosa. Karoly and Marine in Khorakhanè will actively cooperate in the conception of exhibitions, shows and events in the artistic field as well as in the conception and implementation of animation activities for youngsters within the I’M cultural lab and in the social and cultural prospective of the organization. We think that the project will have a long term positive impact firstly for the volunteers themselves, for what regards their personal growth and the competences acquired, also in perspective of their future employability. At the same time the hosting organizations will gain positive impact too as in the past years they have hosted volunteers with very positive results. The local community will also gain from this experience, especially among the youngsters that will have the opportunity to confront with young people from other countries and speak foreign languages. They will also get in contact with the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ program such as the European Voluntary Service and so they will be able to participate in them in the future.
