Inter-Organisational Learning Community for Furniture Industries – MWEBLEarning

The MWEBLEarning project aims to provide the furniture sector with the capacity to identify, assess and disseminate knowledge, information and experience and to improve the updating capacity of workforce skill levels through the creation of ‘learning communities’. Project partners will facilitate co-operation between companies and ‘mediation institutions’ across the participating partner regions, will introduce knowledge-based mechanisms in SME’s through a more integrated inter-organisational use of ICT and will adapt the learning organisation concept to meet the needs of SMEs in the furniture sector. Activities will include the design of learning methodologies, the comparison, evaluation and transfer of experience amongst the project partners and the eventual development of inter-organisational learning communities in the participating regions (based upon the model of the Andalusian furniture sector). The results of the project will comprise a series of electronic reports on the learning communities, the developed methodologies and the pilot experience in Andalusia, in addition to a collaborative web platform for use by the participating regions. The web platform will host all project outputs in the languages of the partner countries and in English. Dissemination is planned throughout the project lifetime and will include the release of 6 sectoral and 2 inter-sectoral newsletters updating on project progress and the hosting of a final project dissemination seminar.
