Intensivkurse für Englischlehrer in Schottland LFEE PIC 947882546
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The applicant school is a hotspot school with a high proportion of students from socially deprived families and children from immigrations backrounds. The teaching staff accepts the diversity and the high turn over rate as a challenge. The main intention for attending the language courses is to improve language skills and to promote didactical-methodological abilities in foreign language teaching. Furthermore the course is intended to support intercultural skills by interacting with teachers from other countries. The applicant school is rather small. Therefore only two teachers wll join the project. One of them is a class teacher, the other one a class and support teacher for immigration issues. The idea is to extend the project to additional teachers, possibly by job-shadowing.The project has three main activities: intensive language training by a language course, activities to improve country knowledge and exchange with teachers from other european countries. This is a joint project together with a language school in Scotland. We expect the project to improve our intercultural knowledge and to optimize the English teaching, the teaching of German as second language and the talks with English speaking parents of our students. The learning experiences are supposed to be multiplied by in-school training sessions and training sessions of the support teacher for immigration issues.
