Institutional framework for development of the third mission of universities in Serbia

The IF4TM project has an overarching aim to contribute to the establishment of institutional framework for the third mission of the universities in Serbia, encompassing three dimensions: technology transfer and innovation, continuing education and social engagement. Six specific objectives are:1. To define legal and policy framework supporting the development of universities’ third mission in Serbia 2. To adjust existing and define new legal framework at seven Serbian HEIs in line with national regulative requirements 3. To develop technology transfer and innovation dimension of the third university mission, through INNO platforms for innovation management at seven Serbian HEIs, proof-of-concept programme raising TRL level and involvement of students in creative ideas development 4. To develop continuing education dimension for capacity building of university staff, researchers and students in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation and intellectual property management5. To develop universities’ social engagement dimension unlocking and mobilizing university resources and capacities to society and enterprises needs6. To establish five Creativity Centres as spaces facilitating creativity in teaching and learning, ideas development and proving concept through interdisciplinary communication and creation of working prototypesSome important IF4TM results with impact on modernization and social engagement of HEIs in Serbia are: • Improved national framework supporting third mission activities • Institutional framework for third mission at seven Serbian HEIs developed• Operational Manual and metrics for monitoring of third mission activities • Seven INNO platforms for innovation management • Proof-of concept programme and its implementation for raising TRL level • Two National competitions for the best student ideas• University CB programme for IP and innovation management• Five Creativity Centres established in Serbia.
