The youth exchange "Inspire youth creativity!" aims to develop approaches of working with young people and audiences, development of creativity and creative actions that animates the public. In order to strengthening the dialogue and youth work with Roma and non-Roma on local, national and international level, as well the cooperation and relations between Roma and non-Roma youth and youth organizations, we aim to foster the conceptual understanding for intercultural dialogue, youth empowerment and mobilization. One of the objective is also to develop approaches for creating creative public actions, as well to develop new projects within the new Erasmus plus Programme. This 10-day lasting youth exchange will bring 38 youngsters together, that are engaged at a local, regional and national level in the empowerment process of young Roma and inspire youth's creativity to take action. The exchange, organized by the Regional Educational Roma Youth Association in Struga, Macedonia from 05-th till 14-th of August 2014, will be the occasion to discuss approaches that involve non-formal learning, as well to learn and participate in impro-theater, frozen installation creation, comic drawing, creativity, art as action and tool, youth mobilization and the opportunities that young Roma and non-Roma have to participate in social and political life. The exchange will look into practices of intercultural dialogue on local level, example of public actions based on creativity and how to connect these to international projects based on the tools of the new Erasmus plus programme. The participants will work on creating creative performances that will be presented on the international youth day 12-th of August by moving the exchange in the Multicultural center of Kratovo. During the stay in Kratovo, the exchange will discuss with the local community, the needs and aspirations of young people, and will engage in a common action (flash-mob) to promote publicly through creative tools the respect between Roma and non-Roma youth. In order to stimulate and improve the opportunities for cooperation, a video and an internet platform will document the outcomes of the exchange. It will include many best practices of local, national and international youth projects related to empowerment and creativity, as well mobilization and participation of young people. The specific objectives of the exchange are to: • strengthen the transnational and long-term networking of Roma youth organizations from 7 European countries; • share and disseminate successful practices based on creativity; • promote the visibility of Roma and non-Roma youth active citizenship to combat racism and xenophobia, in order to create opportunities of dialogue between young people from different cultural background by addressing it to relevant stakeholders; • raise the participation of young Roma in the new Erasmus plus programme and develop new cooperation projects. All the projects ideas, as well as already implemented projects and methods/approaches of different Roma and non-Roma youth organizations will be edited and published in order to serve as a basis for all participating organizations as well as other youth organizations. The participating organizations will benefit strongly of the exchange of experience and transfer of successful practices through this youth exchange, as well as through on/offline tools during follow-up, in order to strengthen innovative methods and approaches in non-formal education, social inclusion and challenging stereotypes and antigypsyism by using creativity. All partners will enlarge and deepen their grassroots networks in Roma communities, enhance their capacity in European cooperation, build partnerships to stakeholders and authorities on all levels, position themselves by mainstreaming their inclusive, empowering and participative approaches on the respective levels and fulfil their own missions. Based on already developed grassroots networks and active volunteers, this project targets to empower, train and capacitate young Roma and non-Roma as multipliers, role models and active citizens in order to raise their capacity, creativity, initiative, self-esteem, negotiating power to advocate their own needs to achieve sustainable effects in their own realities. The biggest impact we expect for the young Roma themselves, as they can realize that the world is not just problematic but there are options for them to construct their own future.
