”Støttekredsen for Rite Højskole” (Supporters of Rite Folk High School) has worked with seniors who are volunteers in schools in Denmark, Sweden and Latvia. To expand these activities for seniors, two Danish leaders went to August-Claas Schule in Harsewinkel in Germany to get inspiration. They wanted to examine the possibilities of seniors with craftsman experience to be volunteers in schools. The project focused on the group of students who had great difficulty in finding out what they wanted after school. The seniors were responsible for today's program and what activities that should be performed, a teacher was attending as observant. The seniornetwork gave the young people better opportunities to get a foothold in the business community and the students often got much inspiration of different kind of possibilities. At the same time they developed good conversations between the older and the younger. Both parties benefited from the contact. We still keep in contact with the school in Harsewinkel. Original we met them at an EU seminar for good projects.
