Project “Inside the culture” is long term EVS project in Jordan.
The objective of this bilateral EVS project is to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people; in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union and Middle East countries, to enhance youth mobility in Lithuania, offering voluntary service opportunities in a project dealing with youth work in Jordan.
This project will also promote tolerance of, and respect for different European and Arab ways of life; an understanding of interaction between people and their environment within a European context; and an awareness of the inter-dependence and inter-relationships between people, cultures and environments.
Volunteer from Lithuania will stay in Jordan for 6 months and do activities in Palestinian refugee camps and poor areas near Amman. Activity will start form 1st of September, 2015 till 28th of February, 2016.
During the volunteer’s activities in the hosting project and by living in another country, the volunteer will get to know a diversity of styles, traditions, architecture, design, aesthetic differences from a range of sources (painting, drawing, ceramics, textiles, graphics, video); famous artists, stories, poems, folk-tales from Jordan and Middle East. The volunteer will in return bring new ideas, traditions and way of life to the youth and the staff of the local organisation. Local community in Jordan will also meet new culture, learn new behaviour possibilities. Especially children from refugees' camp will try new ways how to spent leasure time and will be motivated to seek for learning goals.
