Innovative Training System for SME Support Institutions

The project aims to develop and pilot e-learning materials to improve the skills and competencies of employees in SME support institutions, specifically those working in business consultancy and information & advisory centres for SMEs. The project will create e-learning tools, involving aspects of self-assessment, which will allow users to test their knowledge and to further develop their skills levels with regard to the delivery of appropriate SME support services. Project partners will initially undergo a needs analysis with regard to the ‘existing’ and ‘required’ skills of those working in the provision of support to SMEs. Information on existing support services will be further exchanged amongst the participating partner countries. The project will then design, develop, pilot and introduce a range of e-learning materials for personnel in SME support institutions. Project results will be produced in electronic format (CD-Rom, web-based) in all partner languages and will comprise the e-learning materials and the self-assessment tool. A management and evaluation board will be established by the project and will be responsible for overall project co-ordination and for dissemination, for which Project Information Folders will be produced to raise awareness of project activities and results.
