Innovative Bildungsansätze für digitale und kulturelle Inklusion
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

atempo is one of the leading inclusive social enterprises in Austria and advocates the equality of all people. A core area of atempo is inclusive adult education for people with learning difficulties and disabilities. People with learning difficulties and disabilities are individuals who need more time when learning or cannot learn or do certain things and therefore need support in learning and beginning to work. An important cornerstone of our training is the digital literacy and inclusion of our target group. Inspired by the conviction of revolutionary innovation potential of iPads and Tablets, we started our training program to expand into new mobile devices and media. Tablet training courses will be offered internally for people with learning difficulties, as well as externally throughout European adult learning offers for adult educators, teachers, and social workers. In the not too distant future, each participant and employee at atempo should, according to the vision, have their own tablet accompany them in all spheres of life, be it in training, in work, in the organization and the support of everyday life or in their leisure time. In order to make this vision a reality over the next few years and continuously push forward the modernization of our education methods, a "digital " qualification of the employees working in training and job coaching, among other things, is necessary. Besides digital literacy also the aspect of cultural inclusion plays an important role in atempo´s future development plans. In this matter access to cultural herritage in general (accessible heritage) and in particular access to art are crucial topics. Innovative approaches of art education like the project „sensory objects“ can be of great value especially for people with learning difficulties and disabilites. The aim of the mobility project "Innovative educational approaches for digital and cultural inclusion" is to make atempo over the next few years even more of an inclusive, European education provider of digital basic education and inclusion. In this project, a total of five staff members are trained in the handling and use of tablets through participation in European structured courses and two staff members will carry out an observation in the field of cultural inclusion at a partner organisation in England. The project is being prepared, monitored and evaluated by a project coordinator. This is both in the preparation, as well as the practical implementation the primary contact. This course participation effects on different levels: they gain the knowledge of employee skills in the use of tablets, networking and exchange of experience on a European level and ultimately improve quality and accuracy and thus the competitiveness of our national and international inclusive education offer. Thinking long term, the Erasmus+ mobility project should make a significant contribution to the strengthening of atempo's role as an inclusive, innovative, competent and European adult education organisation and thus promote the (digital) inclusion of people with learning difficulties and disabilities in Europe.
