Innovation, originality and applicability in teaching using ICT

This project is designed to meet the needs of the teachers in our school, identified in the results of a local research regarding the necessity for professional training and refers to the development, at European level, of the lesson approach methods by improving the methodological knowledge and skills, the working skills and the necessary competences for student training in any field.The Mobility program consists of a training course for 15 teachers in 3 groups of 5 teachers from "Elena Doamna" Food Industry College, Galati, Romania, for 5 days in Valencia, London and Cosenza.The training in an EU country is necessary due to the desire to raise the quality standards of educational services in our school. Professional development through training in the EU is one of the actions by which one of the priorities of PAS is planned to be approached. The course will aim to stimulate teaching innovation and originality in approaching the learning content to improve the link between theory and practice, increase the attractiveness of educational activities and exchange good practices with partner institutions.Objective:-Professional development of teachers by attending training courses abroad in order to learn new active-participatory methods used in teaching, learning and assessment to increase student interest in personal and professional development, to reduce absenteeism and dropout with 2%.Specific objectives:O1- improving pedagogical and methodological competences of developing innovative and attractive teaching strategies to actively involve the students in teaching, learning and assessment process;O2- improving digital skills in order to increase the applicability of the lessons;O3- sharpen the teachers' communication skills in foreign languages.During the training course, the objectives will be achieved by:- Attending classes to learn and apply new active-participative methods in teaching using ICT to increase students' interest in learning and personal development;- Understanding and using collaborative and cooperative tools using ICT (Moodle, Blog, Weebly, Social media, vuvox, checkthis, thinglink, video converter, online pdf, Grock, YouTube mp3, Word, Star Planet, Mooc)- Attending workshops in order to integrate in the lesson plans the new methods and tools to develop innovative teaching strategies based on the active participation of the students in classes;- Visits in schools where discussions and debates with teachers and students will be carried out, regarding the innovative practices and methods in teaching, learning and assessment;- Visits to food industry economic agents - Fabio olive - factory, Spadafora wine factory and Bella Calabria - restaurant.- Validation and certification of the learning outcomes;- Dissemination of the project.The expected results for the beneficiaries are: improving the skills needed in training students, a portfolio that includes lesson plans with teaching/learning sequences, scorecards, handouts, questionnaires and ppt presentations.The aims for school are: to increase the quality and attractiveness of educational activities to reduce absenteeism, dropout, improving the results in BAC exam and Qualifications exams, to improve the quality of cooperation with institutions and organizations at national and European level.Project results:• Each participant will develop a portfolio containing:- Minimum 3 lesson plans with new learned methods;- An analysis study of the number of early school leavers, the problems caused by this, and solutions to reduce early dropout applied in the host countries;- Assessment methods and tools based on the learning outcome;- Reports completed after the mobilities.• Creating a blog and a Facebook group of the project where there will be loaded the materials developed during mobilities, the materials included in portfolios and power-point presentations disseminating mobilities.• A CD containing demonstrative lessons with the new creative methods that were acquired while participating in the mobility.• Photo album with pictures from the training activities• Notice board in school.• The dissemination of the project will be done in the school newspaper, local press, in “Scoala Galateana” magazine, the school website, the teachers‘meetings and the project website.• e-Twinning partnership.The improved results of our students and the participation in European projects, school contests and extracurricular activities will promote the school and motivate and attract eighth graders graduates to continue their studies in our institution.
