The idea of creating and implementing a European project appeared after the teaching staff attended a seminar on Erasmus project management and elaborating funding proposals. The internal development policy was analyzed and the following areas on which immediate action was necessary were identified: improving teaching/ learning /evaluation methods, introducing new means and methods of teaching, in order to prevent and reduce school dropout rates, developing managerial competencies in view of aligning the educational process with the current needs of the students and international standards. After identifying the needs , the following objectives were established:O1- innovating up to 20% the methods and techniques of teaching, learning and evaluation, by utilizing new communication technologies and involving 12 teachers aged between 25 and 50 years old in this process; an ongoing learning process which will last 2 years.O2- enhancing the digital competencies of 92 of our pupils, aged between 7 and 14 years old, with over 20%, by implementing 3 new facultative digital competencies courses , which will last through the duration on an entire school year;O3 – increasing up to 20% the European character of our school by developing the managerial competencies of our school staff, which will include training the personnel composed of 10 teachers and 2 administrative staff according to European standards and involving them in international projects for the duration of 2 years, as well as in the future. The selection of the participants was determined by : general criteria (high level of commitment, availability, openness, the necessary motivation and drive to involve oneself in the project, the desire to impart knowledge unto others, team spirit) specific criteria (as in possessing the qualification of teaching digital competencies classes, having well-structured teaching plans, relevant for the institution itself, as well as in terms of expanding the curriculum and involving the students, participation in projects). After taking all these criteria into account, 12 participants were selected: 2 preschool teachers, 2 primary school teachers, a learning support teacher, a Romanian teacher, a Biology teacher, a Physics teacher, an English teacher, the school principal, the secretary and the school accountant. They will participate in 5 mobility programmes having the duration of 5 to 7 days, in countries such as Spain, the UK, Malta and Portugal. The formation courses have been selected according to the needs and necessary areas of development of the teachers and are centered on the main themes of: innovating teaching/learning/evaluation methods with the aid of modern technology, developing digital competencies, but also developing the competencies related to elaborating European project proposals. These courses will focus on linguistic competencies and will help teaching staff understand the needs of their pupils better, helping them create an educational environment which is dynamic, pleasant and adequate for learning, by implementing activities according to international standards of practice. The activities included in the mobility programmes will impact:-Participants by developing their digital, linguistic, social and entrepreneurial skills in an international environment; innovating teaching, learning and evaluation methods by utilizing new digital instruments; a better understanding of practices, policies and international educational systems, in view of a lifelong career development plan;-Pupils by increasing their interest and their level of satisfaction in terms of the educational process, the possibility of selecting a facultative course which corresponds to their need of development,in the area of digital, linguistic and social skills;The pupils become aware of European standards of life and education by communicating directly with pupils from other European countries;-On the institution by expanding its educational curriculum by implementing 3 new facultative courses: English language – A Modern Approach in the Digital Age, Learning by playing and having fun,Personality development for social integration; The teaching staff will become more proficient and motivated by implementing activities and methods that represent good educational and managerial practice, by observing better school results from their pupils and from their own activity while taking part in European projects and collaborating with new educational partners. The desired results and effects will become apparent: the improvement of educational activities after implementing new technologies and good practice examples, gaining experience in elaborating and implementing European projects. Long terms benefits: improving the quality of the educational process, increasing learners’ motivationgood collaboration between teachers, students and parents and high levels of involvement and participation in European projects.
