Ingenious Teacher Training

The school development of the Euregio-Gymnasium focusses on two new tasks: First inclusive education has only recently been established at our school. At the same time we have established a new subject - ICT and Technical Education - which offers students the opportunity to acquire special skills in digital-media competence and ICT-learning. In these fields we especially take care of students with specific disadvantages due to learning or motivational problems. Moreover it is our intention to raise the awareness of all students as well as parents and teachers for the chances and risks of the use of ICT/social media and mobile internet.
We apply for the participation in various courses of the Ingenious Teacher Training (http://courses.eduproject.eu), because they exactly meet our needs.
To reach the goals of our school development we need training for teachers to deal with the challenges of inclusive education. We have to develop concepts as well as practical instruments to cope with this new task. We need advice in the development of inclusive structures and in the implementation of social pedagogy in our school. Moreover the majority of our inclusive learners have a different cultural or ethnic background; hence our interest in the intercultural aspects of the Ingenious Teacher Training.
The Ingenious Teacher Training enables our teachers to acquire new competencies and skills that will have a direct impact on the lessons we teach. It will improve the contents as well as the quality of our teaching. This means first of all the inclusive lessons, second the ICT- and digital-media lessons, but also many other subjects. We expect the Ingenious Teacher Training courses to enrich our variety of methods and educational tools, to improve our classroom management, to widen the scope of our educational approaches and to intensify the Social Learning at our school.
We have selected a range of 18 teachers for the courses who hold key positions and who are in charge of the school's inclusive and ICT-goals. They have to handle the problems that have occurred so far on a daily basis, they have the most experience in their fields and they are all coordinators. So in their leading positions they can be trusted to disseminate the results of the Ingenious Teacher Training properly.
By taking part in the Ingenious Teacher Training we also want to establish international school contacts to create a network of cooperating schools on a European level, so we expect long-term effects and a lasting impact of the Ingenious Teacher Training.
