Information system for the cross-border mobility of people involved in craft vocational training

Cross-border mobility for the benefit of craft activities : The Smart project seeks to provide incentives for cross-border mobility related to craft activities. The aim is also to protect and disseminate skills specific to certain regions of Europe. This is the only way to safeguard heritage. Given tangible shape by way of the Internet site moveart.org, the project features a huge database on craft training in Europe. The partners initially limited the scope to nine trades relating to the decorative arts, ceramics and glass but this is due to be extended to a further 40 or so trades soon. This project started in 2000 and lasted 36 months.
