The project with the title“Romanian IT for the European labour market”is designed for the XI and XII graders, specialized in mathematics and computer science,who are attending initial occupational training courses at the Pentecostal high school from Arad and who will acquire the qualification of an auxiliary computer analyst as a result of passing the professional qualification exams. The partnership involves the PENTECOSTAL HIGH SCHOOL from ARAD as beneficiary, DESARROLLO WEB and DSISPAIN from GRANADA as the host organization and MOBILITY EUROPEAN PROJECTS GRANADA as the intermediate organization. The placement meets the following specific needs of the participants: developing the practical activities in firms,not in the school laboratories, firms which are equipped with modern computers, using advanced and revolutionary software which should impact the creative and inventive spirit of the students; coming into contact with the real environment of a specialized I.T. firm;creating connections with I.T. specialists and exchanging information and knowledge; observing how an I.T. specialized firm works. The project ensures the formation of general skills specified in the informatics curriculum for the XI and XII grade having the mathematics and computer science profile such as:identifying data which occur in a problem and applying the fundamental algorithms for solving it, implementing the algorithms in a programming language, analyzing a problem with the purpose of identifying and classifying the necessary data, identifying the relation between data, using the specific elaboration functions of the structural data, identifying the programming techniques suitable for solving a problem and creatively applying them, making a strategy of solving a problem, the comparative analysis of the efficiency of different techniques used to solve a problem and choosing the most efficient one, using the instruments of developing an application, using a specific programming agent, presenting an application. All these skills will ensure a better transition of the young students from school to active life and will facilitate their insertion on the labour market. The objectives of the project are the following: 1.Developing the students` practical skills with the purpose of ensuring a better transition from school to active life 2.Enhancing the quality in the initial professional training by rising the students` adaptability to the current demands of the changes within the I.T. domain 3.Improving the social, cultural and linguistic skills and abilities by making contact with a totally new environment 4.Acquiring the skills and competence of entrepreneurship which can determine the students to start their own business in the future The contents are found in the computer science curriculum: •XI grade: Data structures dynamically allocated. Programming methods and techniques •XII grade: Data base management system. Microsoft Visual FoxPro programming language The mobility will take place in Granada, Spain, in 2 distinct timetables, as follows: •February 10th, 2014–March 2nd, 2014 •March 10th, 2014–March 30th, 2014 The results of the project are the following: •the students involved will master good professional skills in dynamically allocated data base and in the Microsoft Visual FoxPro programming language •the improvement of English and Spanish linguistic skills •knowledge acquisition of how an I.T. firm actually works •the students will produce 30 DVD`s, 10 posters,30 booklets and 100 fliers which will contain the presentation of the project, images/pictures taken during the mobility,participants` feedback •creation of a blog to promote the experience gained through the project •organizing a computer club for the students of the theological profile, in which the project participants assume the role of forming their colleagues •newspaper articles and T.V. interviews •a model of good manner for rest of Christian high schools in the country.
