Increasing the Role of the Citizens in the European Project

The educational seminar "Increasing the Role of the Citizens in the European project" which will be held in Sofia from 12 to 19 December 2010 aims at encouraging the active participation of young people in the decision making process through debates, public consultations and citizens' initiatives at European, national and local level. The participants will be acquanted with the European institutions, seek ways to improve the European political debate and develop strategies to raise the awareness and the information level of the citizens in Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia and Austri?A  in respect to European politics.They will engage in discussions of the complex relation between Brussels and civil society and examine the phenomena of disenchantment with politics and Euro-scepticism.Through the exchange of ideas, methodology and best practices, combined with discussions with experts, politicians and representatives of EU institutions the participants will improve their skills in European communication.The ideas and knowledge generated during the seminar will be used by every participant and be implemented at local level for the organization of information campaign and events on the occasion of Europe Day 2011 and thus a multiplying effect will be achieved.
