The municipality of Stenungsund would like to increase the skills of their staff in primary, secondary and special schools. First and foremost by strengthening the quality of teaching and learning, raise interest in foreign languages, increase the capacity of the basic skills - math, science and reading, how to work to fight exclusion and how the process of inclusion will be done. Three schools Kristinedal School, Stora Höga School and Jörlanda School and the applicant organisation take part of the consortium. The schools' would like to job shadow in different defined areas;Stenungsund sector education is the convener and has the overall responsibility for the project.Kristinedal School - Job Shadow in Germany and England to see how they work with inclusion and good learning environments in these countries for special school pupils with special needs. All of the staff and some staff from the regular school participates.Stora Höga School - Job Shadow in Finland to see how they are working interdisciplinary with mathematics and crafts and how they are able to achieve good results. Mathematics - and handicraft teachers will participate. Job Shadow in France to see how those uses modern language teaching. Three language teachers and one student councilor will attend.Jörlanda School - Job Shadow in Ireland, which has reversed a downward trend in reading comprehension to be one of the top countries in Europe. All the staff will participate.Through job shadowing, teachers take part and find answers to questions about language learning, inclusion, diversity, assets and opportunities, interdisciplinary work and see how various countries organize their school activities.The results of these activities will be increased expertise regarding languages, the ability to understand different countries' methods of teaching and what it is that gives successful results, new methods and new teaching methods. In the long term, increased competence of staff, a higher proportion of pupils will achieve even better results. Because of the three schools collaborating in the project it will be spread within the municipality and it will also foster future collaborations.For the summary, the project will contribute to the EU's specific goals within the schools reducing the proportion of low-performing 15 year olds in reading, mathematics and science to improve the quality of education and achievements in learning, and to promote equal opportunities for everybody, social inclusion and active citizenship.
