Jong skole has implemented iPad to all the pupils at the school. At this moment, the school wishes to use iTunesU as a common platform for learning. iTunesU is an app that allows teachers, students and parents to follow everything that is taking place in the classroom, what is expected from the students after class, as well as assesment for learning (feed-forward). iTunes U is an app where a school can collect all the teaching assignments, tasks, learning goals, resources, links, course plans, submissions, etc . in one place. In iTunes U, the pupils can keep all their lesson materials, make all their notes, keep track of homework assignments and get assessment from the teachers regarding status, development and progress. There are possibilities for a school to publish lesson materials, plans, assignments, etc. so it can be available for everyone who wants to follow a specific subject. Since there are no elementary schools in Norway using iTunes U, we want to seek Erasmus+ for funding to visit two schools in England using iTunes U and have used it for a long time and have insightfull experiences with regard to methodology and pedagogical use. We want our teachers to observe and follow these teachers, meet in discussion groups, to make plans for implementation at Jong skole, to be equipped to share this experiences with colleagues and to teach others how this can be done. One can discuss with school leaders how and why they implemented iTunes U and how it has effected learning results and motivation at their schools. Jong school wants to make innovative learning environments, allowing both teachers and pupils to be creative according to their individual needs & potential. We wish to communicate in new and better ways with both pupils and parents, to create an environment where assessments of the learning process of each individual pupil is a natural part of his/her daily shooll-ruitine. We hear, from what schools outside of Norway say about iTunes U, that it is a tool that will give us this opportunity to reach these goals and create this environment. It is our goal to use iTunes U at all levels at our school and to make our material available to all the schools in Norway. Schools interested in seeing how we work and what we do in regards to new technology and the methods used to best implement new technology and tools. We want to use the technological opportunities currently existing and thus prepare students for the future. Our goal is to catch up with the digital reality the students already are a part of, to communicate better with students and parents using technology and to inspire to take learning to a new level where we can share our work with the entire world.
