Increase your Employ-Ability
Start date: Jan 1, 2016, End date: Jul 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

“Increase Your Employability“ – it‘s an international exchange project, inspired by one of the most relevant young people’s problem – youth unemployment. Since youngsters often don’t see any solutions for this situation, during our project’s activities we will be aiming to provide some alternative (theoretical and practical) knowledge on getting a financial independence, even though it might not be a very considerable one. Our solution is quite simple – developing enterpreneurship skills: how to create an opportunity to make a profit without any external help? How to start? How to take a promising idea and turn it into a future business? We will meet a young businessman who started his career from nothing and learn his story on how did he succeed. During the practical activities, we will offer a concrete way to replenish their pockets – online trading. Nowadays, selling homemade items on the internet is quite a popular business, therefore we will spend a day for commodity workshops: retouching old stuff (remaking them for another use), lamps’, magnets, gypsum masks production, etc. Vouch for project’s participants’ developing ideas’ certainty, the last project’s days will be spent selling made things – learning the main principles of promotion and making short video adverts for concrete things. Also during the exchange, we will get acquainted with the labor market’s situation and its consequences in partners’ countries and what are the employment possibilities for a young person. On top of that, we will try to establish a personal career basis. We hope that during this international exchange, the participants will gain the most amount of skills that can be implemented in real life, which in their own way can help pupils, students and otherwise unemployed youngsters to earn additional income. By way of communicating and sharing their ideas, the participants from other countries will contravene stereotypes and will expand their view which will motivate intercultural education.Youth exchange will take place in a teaching center “Daugirdiškės”, in March 12-20th, 2016. It will last for 9 days. The representatives of Lithuanian, Latvian, Polish, Austrian, Irish, Portuguese youth organizations will participate. Groups of 6 people will be sent from each country, which will contain five 17-26 years-old people + a group leader.
