In Europa gemeinsam und voneinander Integration lernen - Qualität sonderpädagogischer Arbeit sichern
Start date: Sep 5, 2016, End date: Sep 4, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Friedrich-Elvers-school, as special education school, tries to open for Europe. An important element of this project is to learn about and get experience in various integrative settings in several European countries. Until now exchanges took place with England, Romania, Denmark, Austria, Ireland and Belgium. The aim of this project is the exchange with Spain and Iceland. In Spain, there is a contact with a special education center (CPEE the Immaculate Conception). Iceland should be visited as a fully integrated system with similar rural structures like Dithmarschen.Second important point is the improvement of the quality management of the Friedrich-Elvers-School. The quality of schools is often measured by the number of competitions degrees. Promotion and prevention is not respected. This project deals with special needs education work and tried to measure this work and improve it.Many European countries recognize the value of special needs education as a separate working area. The integration and promotion is in the foreground. Separation is rejected. The protection of children and youth, the promotion and personal development must be combined with the achievement of qualifications. The experience, that special needs education, child protection and the achievement of school-leaving qualifications is possible, should be made in other European countries and used in Schleswig-Holstein.
