Impulse Europäischer Erwachsenen-Bildung an der VHS Schrobenhausen (IEEB)
Start date: Sep 1, 2016, End date: Aug 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project entitled "Impulses for European Adult Education at the VHS Schrobenhausen (IEEB)" is part of diverse European activities of the Volkshochschule Schrobenhausen and consists of three areas of activities: The activity area 1 represents the participation of lecturers of the Volkshochschule Schrobenhausen in structured training courses abroad. All training courses for teachers are taken directly from the European Development Plan. According to the structure of the adult education centre four areas have been identified, where there is need for training, namely "society", "culture", "languages" and "vocational education/ICT". In the field of "culture" the lecturers or teachers should take part in the training on the topic of "integration of migrants" and "acquisition of intercultural competences". Due to the many integration courses which must be held nowadays, the training of additional staff is essential. In the field of "vocational education/ICT" the lecturers or teachers have to participate in "Sensitivity training" or "Basic skills" training to help jobseekers. This includes basic skills in reading, writing, numeracy and ICT. In addition, a course will be perceived to support specialized knowledge, e.g. in an area (Geology), which in our city has special significance. In the area of "languages" the lecturers or teachers participate in trainings on "Strengthening the use of English" and "English speaking and writing". Particularly school leavers with poor entry opportunities to a profession are trained in English courses. In the field of "society" lecturers or teachers participate in trainings on "application and implementation of projects", "Independent development of course material" and "Implementation of the curriculum for basic education". The activity area 2 consists of internship or job shadowing of lecturers with the Spanish partner. The learners, who are volunteers in learning the Spanish language, are accompanied by teachers, who do a job-shadowing at the same time in the language school. At the end the teachers can use their acquired knowledge in their own teaching. These internships serve to deepen the knowledge and to familiarize them with new teaching methods.
