TITLE: "IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF CONTENT AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE INTEGRATED TEACHING"Context:Our Institute, recently established as the union of different schools, needs to organize an action in terms of upgrading the teaching staff competences in the area of language teaching learning at primary and secondary school level .Objectives:- Improve the quality standards of foreign language teaching in primary and secondary school ;- Improve the methodological skills of English language teachers to promote students' motivation to learn ;- A better understanding of the English language , life and the educational system of the United Kingdom;- Increase the students' chances of success in learning English in the difficult transition to different schools grades;- Making the teachers aware of the newest methodologies to plan activities involving learners in a creative way ;- Promote a pro-European dimension by developing cooperation and e-twinning projects with European schools;- Using and developing an inclusive approach to the language teaching- Integrate into the traditional curriculum ideas and activities that improve the language competence through real communication experiences in Europe.Participants to the project :- IC2 Teachers of English (primary and secondary)- IC2 studentsDuration:2 years, from 01/06/2016 to 31/05/2018Description:The main activities are:- First phase: linguistic training of the staff involved;- Second phase: English teachers training courses abroad ;- Third phase: dissemination and sharing meetings, workshops .Methodology :- Brainstorming on the needs highlighted by the staff before the training ;- Group work on the topics of greatest interest ;- Meetings of research/action to experiment and build new educational pathways ;- Questionnaires about learning outcomes and evaluation on teacher's training and classes activities.Impact and outcomes:At the end of the Project these are the expected results:- Improved level of competence in the English language ;- Better knowledge of the British culture and educational system ;- Wide use of international practices in language teaching ;- Better chances for success in the learning of a foreign language for pupils with special needs;- Sharing the best practices and experiences ;- Dissemination of new methodologies ;- Enhance the quality and level of the standards of foreign language learning by students .Thanks to this Project a genuine European identity will be improved through the partnership with different European schools.
