Exam passing rate to EN is low, so we intended to improve communication with the parents and to combine folklore with the national curriculum to increase children's chances of success.The overall objective of this project is to improve student achievement in short and medium term by increasing the rate of promotion at national exams to 10% by 2020.For this, the specific objective are:Os1- the improvement of communication between parents and school;Os2- the use of folklore as a resource of education, as a liaison between the members of the educational process: the children, the parents and the teachers;Os3-improving and creating new methods and techniques of teaching an learning in the context of European integration of the graduates from rural areas.We propose the following operational objectives:Oop1-the mobility of 5 teachers in the school year 2016-2017, in an European country, to a training program, to develop communication skills with the parents;Oop2-the mobility of 7 teachers in the school year 2016-2017, in an European country, to a training program, to develop thinking skills through cultural traditions;Oop3-running in the school year 2017-2018 in our school 2 e-Twinning projects in which to promote the local customs and traditions;Oop4-the elaboration, by June 2018, in our school of a school-parent communication guide, in order it to be implemented and published in the press, so that to be used by other teachers.Oop5-the development, approved by ISJ, and implementation of a CDS curriculum that promotes and studies local folklore, traditions and customs, in our school.To achieve these goals listed above during the period 2016-2018, we decided that a total of 12 teachers will attend training courses in EU countries. The teachers of Seleus Middle School will be selected as follows:-5 teachers will attend a training course in which will learn new techniques and methods to improve teachers' relationship with parents. Both school and parents are seeking the same objective, namely to help the children in the learning process, to help them become responsible individual and to succeed in life. A 25 hours training course will give teachers solutions the problems they have encountered in the relation with parents: examples between families and teachers in the European schools, the different types of families and how to interact with factors influence positive or negative the relationship between parents and school, different strategies to encourage parents participation in education, the way in which the feelings and the personality of each individual can affect it, to make different partnerships with parents, finding solution to problems, to create a communication parents-school guide.-7 teachers will attend a 25 hours training course in which they will learn how to develop thinking skills through cultural traditions. this course will develop instruments and methods that will integrate the traditions and the customs using methods and solutions in the learning process, that uses the folklore as an educational resource, that maintains alive the interest of the youth in local tradition, customs and folklore; the teachers will create a CDS curriculum with the theme of the integration of the folklore, in order to improve the local cultural and artistic heritage. In short term, the project will reduce school absenteeism, it will actively involve the parents in the school activities and it will attract young people to the preservation of traditions and local folklore. In the long term, the project will improve student results in national exams, so improving their quality of life due to the graduation of vocational schools or universities, this will enable a high ethical and moral standard, respecting the past and the ancestors, the traditions and the local customs, and loving the national folklore and history.
