The Project ”Improving practical skills of the aspirants wishing to qualify as Nurses at European level”, has as main aims the mobility of 20 students of the High School "Radu Miron", Vaslui, Romania, in June 2015, for apprenticeships at WBS TRAINING AG, Dresden, Germany, focused on first aid, crisis interventions and providing injection. The main objectives of the project are: • getting a job based on the skills/abilities/certificates obtained through the project; • increasing the nurses’ level of skills and key abilities needed in Europe, regarding First Aid, Crisis Intervention and Injection; • increasing confidence of trainees after training in Germany; • learning specialized medical terms in the German language • enhancing teamwork skills, professional communication in multilingual and multicultural teams, with patients from other cultures; • strengthening the institutional capacity of the school; • providing more attractive educational programs to aspiring nurses; There will be a number of 20 students from The High school "Radu Miron". The organizations involved are The High school "Radu Miron" Vaslui, Romania (sending organization) and WBS TRAINING AG Dresden, Germany (receiving organization) The main activities in order to successfully implement the project are: • Disseminating the information about the project to all students and teachers in the school. • Developing methodology for evaluation and selection of trainees. • The selection of candidates based on methodology. • Learning the German language and multicultural issues. • Welcoming the participants, accommodation, and presentation of the program, the internal regulations of the establishment, the safety measures, the monitors and the personnel involved in the activities. • Training, practical instruction, case presentations, practical applications in schools, hospitals, ambulance stations, study visits: o Presentation: First Aid and Nursing in Germany ; o Training / Practical Instruction: First Aid , Injection , Ambulance ; o Case report / study visits: The Dresden School of Nursing, The University Hospital Dresden, The Ambulance, The Fire Station. • The final evaluation. Participants will receive Europass Certificate and a WBS Certicicate, filled with descriptions of learning outcomes in accordance with the ECVET principles. Additionally each participant will receive a First Aid Certificate and Injection Certificate, which is valid and required in Germany for nurses. • Information and publicity. The results / impact resulting from the project implementation are: • Increased knowledge, skills and abilities required by medical care in accordance with the European requirements for twenty participants. • Developing professional skills in accordance with the requirements of the German health system: first aid, providing injections, rules of hygiene, patient care plan development, and performance evaluation of care applied, interventions in crises. • Increasing opportunities in finding a job in specialized national or European labor market. • Learning German medical terms. Practical experience in hospital nursing schools, ambulances and fire stations, etc. in Germany will be a significant input to the German medical knowledge. • Increased self-confidence of the participants. • Strengthening teamwork skills and professional communication. • Increasing the attractiveness of school and hence its number of students. • Increased experience in European projects.
