Image Mapping
Start date: May 1, 2016, End date: Apr 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Within the Ukrainian society, a noticeable process of inner migration is constantly happening, flowing from small rural territories to huge cities. This puts a challenge for further development of the Ukrainian province which, by the way, possesses a considerable natural, economic and social potential. The project “Image Mapping” seeks for achieving the sustainable development process of the rural communities with the help of cultural instruments, working with youth and local inhabitants, informational promotion of its cultural heritage and developing the touristic infrastructure. The project will happen on the basis of two venues in Ukraine: the “Holodnyi Yar” area – the nucleus of the green tourism development which will host the activities aimed at boosting the sustainable development, and Vinnytsia which will host the linguistic clubs and non-formal education events. Various partners from international NGOs and networks (like SCI), youth groups to green tourism proprietors and local artists will be involved. The tasks of the volunteers and the partners will be to study, animate and later present the cultural and natural background of the chosen rural area. For this an amateur journalistic study, a work-camp, live public presentations in Vinnytsia, “Holodnyi Yar”, Chrekasy, on-line dissemination of media materials about this separate rural community, a round table of green tourism activists from the “Holdnyi Yar” will be performed. With the project we aim to introduce the international volunteers to cultural background of the Ukrainian province, aim to intensify intercultural experience between the performers and participants of the project, to animate cultural life and improve organizational capabilities (like cooperation) in the rural community, aim to promote the venue’s cultural heritage and to create a touristic route that underline beauty of the places. This will contribute to achieving the sustainable development process in the village in long-term as will stimulate the incoming rural tourism and people will get a chance of self-employment thanks to it. The project methodology was successfully implemented previously on the Busha village (Vinnytsia region) in 2015 and the project got acknowledgement from the Ministry of youth and sports of Ukraine as one of the best youth initiatives in 2015 in the country. As well the volunteer will be organizing the non-formal language speaking clubs for the general residents from Vinnytsia on the basis of the public library that besides the French language and information on the culture will spread knowledge about the “Erasmus Plus” programme and subjects of the European dimension. Also the seminars on the youth mobility will be organized by the volunteer on the basis of the Vinnytsia universities to spread the knowledge about the “Erasmus Plus” programme in particular.
