Ikvienam ir talants!
Start date: May 1, 2011,

The Youth Exchange, lasting 11 days, hosted in Bila Tserkva, (Ukraine) is designed and carried out by youth organizations from Eastern Europe and Caucasus (Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine) as well as Programme Countries (Latvia, Poland and Spain). The project involves young people with fewer opportunities, approx. 6 from each of the countries. The young people involved face social exclussion - they are in the care of various social institutions (children's homes, foster care, social support centers etc.) and face the problem of having fewer opportunities than their peers. These young people are in need of empowerment and finding positive areas and strenghts in their life on which they can focus. The project aims to help these young people address the notion of "talent" - which today is often presented in a very one-dimentional and exclusive way. Through varried activities - some focusing on artistic activites but also on cultural and social dimenssions of talent (interpersonal talents, communication skills, connecting with nature and society) the young people will be empowered through the realization that each and every one of us posseses talents and strenghts and the discovery and development of these can often happen in a different way than what TV and internet may suggest. The main objective of the project is to provide means, space, opportunity and support for young people with fewer opportunities to behave creatively and to explore the many areas in which they can find their strengths and natural talents. The project includes a pre-event preparation phase and post-event follow-up which together with the activites within the Youth Exchange will be documented and disseminated to provoke a reflection on the notion of "talent" in different youth circles.
