Εικονικά Εργαστήρια - Δημιουργία e-learning μαθημάτων χρησιμοποιώντας διαδραστικές 3D προσομοιώσεις.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project concerns training teachers from the collaborating Laboratory Centers of the four regions of Athens, in designing and creating e-learning courses and educational games by using interactive 3D simulations. The teacher's role in shaping new learning models and strategies has always been very important. With the integration of Information Technologies and Communication (ICT) in contemporary educational reality and the creation of a new educational environment, this role is readjusted as the teacher is expected to possess new knowledge and skills. The objective is the training of 24 teachers and the professional advancement of VET staff, to develop innovative content teaching methods and tools, utilizing new digital technologies. Changes in the working environment are occurring rapidly, knowledge is also devalued rapidly and the current formal educational system fails to respond promptly and reliably, without cost in time and money. Therefore it is urgent to create new and more flexible forms of learning, teaching and training, such as virtual laboratories. Virtual labs are educational systems with computers (investigative or educational), based on simulation. They enable students to simulate experiments, which could not be carried out otherwise or to plan and carryout new ones based on theories not proven. In this lab we can experiment by designing a device which consists of "virtual" instruments, apparatus, machines, etc. We have the ability to adjust parameters, to observe the effects they cause and to measure the impact they have. The objective of the training is for the participants to improve their skills and learn new techniques so that they can use both basic and more advanced features and techniques in 3D Animation, so they can create three dimensional animations in teaching laboratory experiments. The basic modules training will focus on are: • Presentation of the techniques used in e-learning. • Analysis of applications and methods used in the classroom. • Analysis of network virtual environments as well as presentation of the technology of virtual reality. • Virtual environments and applications used for distance education. • The use of serious games and simulations in e-learning. • The use of virtual tools and devices to create technical courses. • Explanation of the EVE platform and its characteristics. • Presentation and analysis of standard X3D. The historical development of X3D and its advantages over the VRML. • Creating a course with interactive 3D simulation. In the proposed plan there are two streams which include a seminar at the host establishment, professional - educational trips and cultural events. The suggested programς will be implemented in the year 2016. The first stream will be held in Italy, in the company imaginary srl which since 2004 has focused its activities on the development of educational tools and serious games based on interactive digital technologies and was a partner in the project Leonardo da Vinci DE / 11 / LLP-LdV / TOI / 147438 on education with digital media. The second stream will be held in Poland, in the company 4system Polska Sp., which has developed software for 3D simulations and has proven experience in virtual reality issues and educational games, from its participation in impressive projects, such as the "Virtual Physics - true knowledge" with the Koszalin University of Technology etc.
