IFP & PMI – Professional Skills and Training Credit within Handicraft Companies and SMEs

The IFP & PMI project aims to establish a European body of methods and standards for the identification, acquisition and recognition of non-formal and informal learning. The project will specifically address work experience and in-company training with a particular focus upon handicraft companies and SMEs, where a mix of formal, informal and on-the-job training is often found. Primary project results will comprise a comparative analysis of new forms of learning and teaching; an outline skills framework specific to training personnel; methodology for the evaluation and validation of acquired skills and a series of tools supporting the adaptation of European VET systems to the labour market, in order to thus promote lifelong learning, skills certification and training credit. Beneficiaries of the project include managers and/or owners of SMEs, employees, trainers and vocational training bodies. Dissemination activities include establishment of a dedicated project website and the hosting of project workshops, seminars and a final transnational conference.
