IES Manacor presents a mobility project, set within the EU legal framework, so that our students can live the experience of a personal and professional learning in an European country. This project tries to improve the students' skills and core competencies, at the same time that it seeks an uplift in quality and innovation and it helps the internationalization of our school. The main idea is to promote, among our community, the awareness of the need to have an European area of permanent learning within the educational system, so as to enhance the international dimension, the teaching and learning of languages and an intercultural awareness. A total of 15 students will have participated in this programme during the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 courses. The program lasts for a total of 5 weeks, and our students work in posts in different EU countries -Germany, Finland, Great Britain and Italy. The students belong to the following vocational training programs: Transport and Vehicle Maintenance:-Expert in Electromechanical Technician Motor Vehicle.- xpert in Car Bodywork. Administration and Management:-Expert in Administrative Management. Trade and Marketing:-Expert in business. Electricity and Electronics:-Expert in electrical facilities.Computing:-Expert in Computer Systems and Networks. The activities to be performed during their stay will be the following, among others:-Observation and performance of the activities and the different job options for each vocational training programs.-Knowledge of how the different services and production processes are organized and acknowledge the different work relations.-Communication in the language of the country, both in the professional area and in everyday life, thus increasing both the generic and the technical vocabulary.With this program we hope to benefit our students, our school and our community. Our students will not only improve their language skills, they will also improve their knowledge, skills and professional attitudes to have a greater awareness and respect for other cultures. They will, eventually, be able to increase their chances of getting a job.Our school will achieve a great academic and professional recognition and prestige, increasing the participation of partner local companies, at the same time this program will influence positively the employment policies and training in both state and private businesses.The fact of having internationally trained and skilled professionals will improve the economy of the area.By participating in European programs we hope that, in the long run, we will contribute to increase the employability of our students and achieve the expected international dimension that our community deserves.
