IES JOSEP LLADONOSA WZOREM DLA EUROPEJSKIEGO ROZWOJU NASZEGO LICEUM
Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

In today's rapidly changing world there is no place for schools stuck in one place, we need to adapt to changes and prepare young people to be able to function in the united and open Europe, to study and work abroad and equip them with the essential knowledge, skills and confidence. It can only be done by an institution with the European teaching standard. Therefore, the project "IES JOSEP LLADONOSA - a role model for European development of our school" will allow our school to reach the European level of education and benefit from good practices of the Spanish school. The aim of the project is to achieve the European quality of our school by establishing a permanent cooperation with the European school, by getting acquainted with the functioning of the Spanish school in both, local and international dimensions and by becoming familiar with the partner school organizational solutions and project management, particularly: by learning new tools and methods of teaching (CLIL and others), becoming familiar with the IB Diploma programme, coursebooks and other educational materials, by acquiring new skills in using ICT and finally by introducing the intercultural competence into our school. All these objectives are aimed to widen the educational offer of our school and increase the prestige of the school in the local environment and, following the pattern of the Spanish school, to introduce IB Diploma programme in our school. There are 11 participants of the project with lots of years of work experience. These are teachers of different subjects, both the humanities and natural sciences, together with the school head teacher. The main action planned in the project is job shadowing. We plan to observe lessons given by the Spanish teachers, discuss the objectives of the lessons with them and working methods. We are especially interested in such innovative approaches as CLIL, which Spanish school specializes in, and the classes based on the IB Diploma programme, which Spanish school begins to implement in the year 2015/2016. We intend to meet the head teacher of the Spanish school and become familiar with the functioning of the school in the local and international environment. The partnership will result in the increased experience of Polish teachers in terms of international cooperation, learning new methods of teaching (CLIL), better understanding of the IB Diploma programme and its practical implementation in teaching, higher self-esteem and work motivation. As far as school benefits are concerned, the project will result in improving organizational skills at the management level, gaining knowledge of how to manage a European institution and introducing intercultural competence into the school work plan. The long-term benefits will be: greater integration of teachers, establishing a team of professionals open to new methods of teaching and other educational solutions, who are ready to implement best practices in teaching and speak foreign languages. We wish to establish a cooperation with the Spanish school resulting in the future participation in joint projects and initiatives. We also wish to make the teachers and students feel they belong to the European school society.
