IDEA Luchando Contra el desempleo
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

IDEA is the Local Development Agency, a municipal department of the City of Alzira that aims to promote economic development and employment in the city and fight unemployment through training. The Agency has over 19 years experience in organizing training courses for the unemployed, currently teaches several courses of Professional Training for Employment thanks to the support from the SERVEF Valencian Service Employment and Training Agency. The objective of this project is that two IDEA team members can participate in the Training Course "Tackling Unemployment" organized by Amber Initiatives UK. The current economic crisis has brought high unemployment – over 25 million people in the EU. Unemployment is now one of the greatest challenges facing all EU countries, which hurts at any age, and long-term unemployment has more negative effect. It means lower earnings, more unemployment, more ill health later in life. It means more inequality between rich and poor – because the pain hits the most disadvantaged. There is a need for all educational institutions to increase support for unemployed people or those at risk of unemployment. The training will focus on skills development as key elements in response to the current economic crisis, and we offer opportunity to explore a pathway into job through active citizenship and effective use of skills and knowledge gained. During the training, staff of adult education settings will develop innovative approach to provide more targeted and tailored support for those who are unemployed or at risk to be unemployed.
